Thanying, Restaurant Bangkok
The Thanying first opened some 20 years ago
The Thanying Restaurant is named in honor of H.S.H. Princess Sulabh–Valleng Visuddhi who was once the head cook in the Sukhothai Palace kitchen for her half-sister, Queen Rambhai Barni of King Rama the Seventh.
Specialising in the kind of recipes which Princess Sulabh would once be used there, it is run by the princess’s son, M.R. (Mom Rajawong, the fourth royal generation) Sorut Visuddhi and his business partner, Mr. Kriangkrai Unhanandana, a renowned Thai actor.
The Thanying first opened some 20 years ago on Soi Pipat and three years later has moved to an old house on Pramuan Street ever since.
Since the Thanying was recommended in the New York Times and other leading local and foreign magazines as one of the Bangkok ’s best restaurants, it has attracted a number of foreign visitors.
